Barre TriBeCa is pressing pause....
Dearest Barre TriBeCa Clients & Friends
(There are over 10,000 of you!)
When I opened BT in 2014 (photo above) I was frightened. I remember hoping the building would collapse from the construction next door and my plans would be thwarted. (Sorry S, but I did!) But, like all things, through intense challenges come the most rewarding results.
Over the past five years through Barre TriBeCa, I’ve made errors, but not too many (not to mention a million typos). I’ve made friendships, but not enough. Money? Some, but not a lot. Most importantly, I have seen that physical wellness is personally empowering to every single person who has had the opportunity to experience it.
I’ve been blessed with beautiful relationships through the studio in TriBeCa, New York City and around the globe. We’ve hosted over 10,0000 unique clients, led close to 5000 classes, earned many paychecks and created a lot of very good energy.
When I opened, I had intended to keep BT operating until our children reaching the 8th grade. This goal was established before the tendentious, the planter fasciitis, the torn rotator cuff...before the 50th birthday, before two dyslexic diagnosis and before the death of three parents. My children will be entering 5th grade. Not bad.
Choices for focus in my life as an artist, a parent and a professional had to be made, and pausing Barre TriBeCa became to obvious sacrifice.
The decision to pause was made when I met Caroline O’Connor. She is the perfect person to carry the studio forward. She is a lovely, intense, smart, strong, funny and an inspirational person.
Caroline's presence at the helm will allow me to continue to teach and participate at the studio, while I prepare to support three of the most amazing people I've ever met as they become teenagers and prepare to be young adults.
Barre TriBeCa classes will still be available if you are hoping that they will be, along with so many other fantastic classes to discover, and yes, you can still come to the studio not wearing Lululemon, brave the bathroom, not bother brushing your hair (or your teeth for the early a.m classes) and complain, complain, complain about anything you want to, until the cows come home!
Thank you all so much, and love to each and every one of you. Truly.
